Toybiz marvel legends series 9 (Galactus BAF)

Toybiz marvel legends series 9 complete (Galactus BAF)
The first toybiz marvel legends build-a-figure is the world devourer Galactus. You need to get 7 different figures in order to form Galactus. He stands 16" tall and is very well-sculpted all round. There are also 2 variants in the form of the green 1st appearance hulk (chase) and Bullseye with Gritting Teeth, grey costume(Chase). My favorite character from this series - war machine with all its weapons. My only problem with this series was the scale of the 16" Galactus. IMO, the 16" galactus scale doesn't go well with the 6'' silver surfer. Galactus kindoff looks real puny. Overall, a good try by toybiz so two thumbs up.

Toybiz marvel legends series 8

Toybiz marvel legends series 8
My collection comprises of :
Black Widow (Redhead) (with Daredevil vol. 1 #81)
Ultimate Captain America (with poster book) Grey/blue pants
Ultimate Captain America (with poster book) blue pants
Doctor Octopus (with Marvel Age Spider-Man #2)
Iceman (with Uncanny X-Men #18)
Man-Thing (with Ultimate Marvel Team-Up #7)
Iron Man (Modern Armor) (with poster book)
Storm (black costume) (with Uncanny X-Men #96)
The early shipments of ML8 had a paint error on the Captain America figures. The Ultimate Captain America was supposed to have grey paint on his pants, while the Classic Captain America was not. When the toys were first released, these paint apps were reversed. A running change later corrected the error.
Still missing :
Storm (Mohawk, Chase)
Doombot (Chase, Series II re-release with Legends VIII packaging)
Classic Captain America (wings on head, chase variant Grey/blue pants)
Classic Captain America (wings on head, chase variant Blue pants)
Black Widow (Blonde, Chase)

Toybiz marvel legends series 7

Toybiz marvel legends series 7
I was quite pleased with this series. Hawkeye's sculpt and paintjob were excellent and his bow and arrows were done in detailed. Silver centurion Ironman had a whole new different sculpt from previous IM which is a good thing. I'm sure there lots of IM fans who won't mind a lot more new IM sculpts.
The vision and phasing vision shared the same sculpt with the phasing version being translusent which IMO looks easily the better of the two.
The phasing GR (chase) and normal GR had the same sculpts but with two different head designs, different body and bike colour variation. The phasing GR spots a partial burning johnny blaze head and was HTF. I managed to buy it at $35 at CSC which was considered quite a good deal. Goliath was a reissue of the exact same series 4 chase goliath and was also a chase figure. Now wat i didn't understand was why toybiz had to do a weapon X wolverine when they already had 4 wolverines done in previous series. Sigh sigh !!! If only they would have done any other character.
Still missing: apocalypse, GR, Weapon X.

Toybiz marvel legends series 5, 6

Toybiz marvel legends series 6
This series IMO was also the so-called x-men series. It comprises mainly on x-men characters with the punisher being the only exception and the entire series had either a single comic or a 4 comic version. The phoenix (green) was the second female character toybiz had done then and i must say i was particularly impressed with the articulation and sculpt done to it. It also had a phoenix shaped base that came along with the figure. To top it off a variant chase red dark phoenix (HTF) was included into the series. With a imposing sculpt that entirely captures the essence of the juggernaut, that figure to date is easily one of the better ML figures ever. The unmasked wolverine is a chase figure and also a reissue of the series 3 unmasked wolverine.
Still missing : cable (blue), cable (brown, variant), phoenix (green), Deadpool and punisher

Toybiz marvel legends series 5

Toybiz needed to come out with a bang after a disappointing series 4 and man did it ever!!!! They included more popular mainstream characters into the wave and a chase figure (red skull). Did i fail to mention it comprised of the silver surfer (my personnel favorite) and 2 bigger but still excellently sculpted x-men figures (colossus, sabretooth). The red skull has a kindoff vintage look on it which is good but looks weak literally. I thought the long time nemesis of Cap. America would look far more menacing, bigger and muscular. Mr fantastic : so-so. I'm still missing blade and nick fury to complete this series. Overall, A+

Toybiz marvel legends series 3, 4

Toybiz marvel legends series 4
An utterly pathetic series IMO with a weak lineup of marvel characters. Beast, Elektra, Punisher, Gambit and Goliath (chase). Come on toybiz !!! wat the hell were u thinking then. Probably should have included a few more main marvel characters. The only 2 figures worth getting were gambit and goliath. Managed to get french carded gambit only. An utterly anti-climatic series after series 3. Disappointing......

Toybiz marvel legends series 3

The complete ML series 3 MOSC in foil version. Got this in a set from a seller on auctions. Basically got it becoz of Magneto and Thor which IMO had the best sculpt among all later ML Thor renditions. Furthermore, Ghost Rider came along with his awesome bike. I'm still searching for unmasked wolverine (variant) though and i dun mind getting a normal comic version of thor, Mags and GR. Overall, a much improved series from series 2 so two thumbs up Toybiz.

Toybiz Marvel legends series 1 & 2

Toybiz ML series 1 Hulk, Cap America, ironman, Gold ironman, Toad
& Blue stealth ironman
My rarest of the entire collection, the blue stealth ironman. Some might argue that it just sports a blue color variation but same body sculpt from the series 1 normal ironman and it doesn't justify paying some hefty $$$$ for it. Oh well, i just couldn't resist it after seeing it in person at my buddy's crib in perth and ended up paying premium $$$$ for it. But trust me when i say the money spent was well worth it......The Gold variant ironman and the ever elusive toad are just as valuable and are a must in any Marvel legends collection.

Toybiz ML series 2

Current Set comprises of:

Namor

Dr Doom (Doombot variant)

Dr Doom

Thing

Human Torch

Only missing Human torch with 4 sign and walmart trenchcoat thing.

Toybiz 12'' Fantastic 4 (movie) and 12'' spiderman deluxe figures

12'' Fantastic 4 (movie) and 12'' spiderman deluxe figures
These 12'' toybiz figures had almost 30 points of articulations and were quite beautifully sculpt. Just check out invisible woman, venom and black costumed spiderman. I actually preferred the rotocast venom than the toybiz ML icons venom. Its a pity that toybiz didn't produce other 12'' characters such as annihilus, the mole man, sandman, carnage, mary jane and etc......... i would have bought every one of them. Anyway, i'm only lacking the thing, Mr fantastic, green globin and the normal spiderman to complete my collection. Cheers.

Hasbro marvel legends exclusives

Hasbro Walmart Silver Surfer vs Toybiz Silver surfer comparison

Hasbro marvel legends exclusives

Damn, shouldn't have gotten the 25th TRUs Limited edition silver aniversary wolverine as soon as it came out at TRUs. It must be the craziest marvel figure i have ever bought. It retailed at $36.90 then but has since dipped to $26.90. IMO, they should have just painted in colour. The silver paint just doesn't go with any marvel legend figures unless its the silver surfer (DUH !!!) and the packaging feels cheap for a exclusive figure. Furthermore, how limited is it (25000pcs) when there are like a zillion of these around. Is 25th Silver Anniversary Wolverine Toys R Us Exclusive a stupid gimmick or a cool collector's piece? You take your pick.

Just bought the Limited edition Walmart Silver surfer last week. The sculpt used was the same as the toybiz ML series 5 SS. However, the hasbro SS stands just slightly a little taller, has pegs attached on its surf board instead of magnetic pieces and has a all silver paintjob instead of a silverish blue paintjob on its predecessor. The packaging itself looks good and IMO looks more like an exclusive product. I just wish we could get more exclusive figures in retail.

Hasbro Marvel legends Icons 1, 2, 3

HML icons series 3
The surfer has arrived. Just bought these over the weekend. This much anticipated wave was much better than i expected. Both the Human torch version looks hot. IMO the variant version looks better with his blue F4 costume and RED/YELLOW flaming eyes. If only they had produced a red translucent version like the 12" toybiz F4 classics with Hasbro body sculpt.

The Silver Surfer boast an excellent detailed body sculpt which i think suits him to a tee and his legendary surf board which comes in two pieces but able to be fitted together. Man !! This Surfer is a must have for all marvel fans. Definitely gotta buy 1 more SS to open for display. Now if only hasbro could do a 12" thanos or a BAF galactus for 12" marvel legends icons.........

HML icons series 2
Spotted these 2 at OG one day and i had to grab Dr Doom as soon as i saw it. They practically sold like hotcakes unlike punisher which was destined to be a pegwarmer. The infamous Dr Doom spots his original costume and comes with a small pistol. The punisher ......... still nothing......... mmhhhh. Please hasbro more articulation and better paintjob.

HML icons series 1
I bought these back in NYC during my honeymoon 2007. I must say i was quite disappointed at the articulation and paintjob done on Thor. He scored only articulation on one hand, and skin tone colour looked a wee bit plasticky. Wolverine on the other hand was a totally different story, same sculpt as the 12" toybiz marvel legends Icons but with a brown costume. Nonetheless, i'm a thor fan so hasbro 2 thumbs up for making him a 12" icons.

My display shelf

I'm only displaying part of my marvel legends 12" icons collection on my display shelf. Really suffering from a lack of space to store them all in, so everythings pretty much in cupboards, under the bed or elsewhere. Good thing my wife not complaining....... wait, she actually is !! Oh well until our new flat comes along then.........
